If your iPad reports that it cannot reach the activation server - and to try again later - then this might indicate that the activation server is currently offline (this happens on occasion). Wait a while - and then try again. Alternatively, you can connect your iPad to a PC/Mac - and attempt activation via iTunes.


Your Home broadband router is also a possible source of the problem. Restart your home router (power off and wait 10 seconds before restoring power) and allow to reboot - then try to activate your device.
