Charging problem

Suddenly having a problem I never had before in my decade using iPhones.

When I plug the phone in to the wall charger (Using the cable and adapter that came with the phone) It randomly stops charging and an error message “This accessory might not be supported” pops up.

This only started within the last couple days. It resolves itself when I unplug it and plug it back in, but it keeps happening.
