I have been using a wireless charger on my new (4month old) iPhone but left it home while traveling. I brought the small white plugin charger that came with the phone. It will not charge it at all. I'm wondering if the sales person that sold me the phone set itup for only wireless charging. Is this possible?

No it is not possible. Your iPhone should accept a charge wirelessly or while connected to an approved Apple cable accessory. What I would like to ask you is whether you have brought the genuine Apple cable and charger with you? If yes then make sure that the condition of the charging items is good.

There is no setting to determine wireless or regular charging. However, if you are experiencing a problem with charging, you can look at this support document, or you can make a Genius Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support
