Sharing files

I am trying to share music across two users on the same mac (for the files to be part of the library, not to home share). Both music libraries are part of the same account. One was set up when I bought the mac and has older music. I want the newer music to transfer and I think it is an issue with permissions when I downloaded it (my own CDs). My question is whether there is a quicker way to change permissions than go into "Get info" and change to "read and write" for each song. Does anyone know if there is a quicker way? TIA.

You can select the enclosing folder, via Get Info and change permissions for everything in the folder — click the gear icon and select "Apply to enclosed items…"
