Moving messages in gmail to me.com

I have too many email addresses so want to use my me.com address for everything.

How do I transfer messages I have already received that are in my Gmail account to my Mobile Me account? They are sitting in my mail application on my mac AND still on the google server.

I have tried dragging the messages over or exporting as an archive then importing them back in.
