How to use ECG in series 5 in india

Make sure you purchased your Apple Watch in a country that also has given government approval for the ECG app. There are many who apparently like to by the Apple Watch in the duty free shop at the Dubai airport, and then find out Dubai has not approved the ECG app and are now waiting on government in Dubai for approval.

Quoting Apple, “Make sure that the ECG app is available in your country or region and that you're in the country or region where your device was purchased.”

Seems this particular situation doesn’t meet both parts of that requirement, given you’re presently in India and this Apple Watch was purchased elsewhere.

Check with Apple Support for the official answer, though.

That is not your case.

The U.S. has approved ECG.

India has approved ECG.

ECG should work on your Apple Watch.

So did ECG work when you were in the U.S. ??? That would help us understand if you had it working before traveling to India, or if you are trying to activate ECG for the first time.

It’s clear that this doesn’t work now or we’d not be reading this thread, it seems clear that this feature might not or won’t work based on the cited Apple text, and it’s clear that you don’t like this situation and answer and that would prefer an official answer or explanation, which means calling the Apple folks at Apple Support.

Whether they have a path to enable this, or if it’s a hard restriction?

I’d expect there are regulatory details and differences involved.Diifferent governments can have different decisions and different requirements around the implementation of and access to cardiac monitoring instrumentation.
