Is there a way to select light/dark mode only for certain apps (not Apple domain apps)? E.g. Mail, Safari, Maps have an option to turn on/off dark mode for that app specifically. But 3rd party apps (e.g. QGIS) don't seem to have this option.
That's unfortunate because many third party apps haven't yet adopted this change. Ideally Mac OS should have a setting that disables certain apps from the UI theme selected. Thanks for the response.

Apple doesn't make a practice of re-writing other developers' apps. I doubt it would be legal.

That's up to the developer of the 3rd party app. It's not a macOS setting for 3rd party apps.
I don't think this would require a rewrite of the apps. This type of functionality would simply exclude applying a MAC OS setting to the apps.
