Mouse pointer lags for a split second frequently on new MacBook with LG Monitor

Hello!

I'm experiencing an issue with my new MacBook 16". My mouse sticking for a split second on screen and then resuming as normal. This happens at irregular intervals but frequent enough to be annoying (about once every few minutes) This doesn't seem to happen when I'm using the laptop as-is with the trackpad.

The conditions in which I can replicate the issue are:

• MacBook Pro connected to LG 27UK850-W 27"

• Display "scaled" to fit monitor. If I use the "default for monitor" everything is cartoonishly large.

• Using a bluetooth mouse.

I have to add that I have a 2016 15" MacBook Pro with the exact same monitor setup and I do not experience this issue ever.

Any thoughts or ideas on what might be causing this or what I can do to keep this from happening?

I suspect it could be something with the monitor scaling?

From my understanding, your mouse cursor seems to be sticking intermittently during use. I definitely want you to be able to use your Mac with ease, so let’s take a look together.

First I’d recommend following the steps listed in If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support. Specifically, since this is occurring on one device, but not the other, I’d recommend checking out: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support
