iPad locked disabled

So my son was on my ipad, he kept putting in different codes and locked it. Error message "iPad disabled connect to iTunes". I have the passcode but I cant seem to get back to the passcode screen. I dont want to restore to factory settings. Is there a way to unlock it with out erasing everything, I have the passcode
