32 bit app compatibility is interfering with downloading the Sony Play Memories Home. How can I download photos from my sony camera A6600 without it?

Just bought a Sony A6600 camera and am trying to download photos from camera to my mac book Air.

The obligatory app to use in order to download is Play Memories Home. In the process of trying to download it tells me I have 32 bit compatibility and I need 64 bit....so it won't work.

How then do I download my photos without it?

MacBook Air 11", macOS 10.13

You do not need PlayMovie, it will just make the download of AVCHD videos easier.

Have you tried to download the images and videos straight from the camera or the card, using Photos, Image Capture or the Finder? Plug the camera into a USB port, set the camera to Mass Storage or USB MODE. You can also insert the card into a card reader. Photos to Image Capture should be showing the camera as a new device "NONAME" and you can import or download the Photos. For AVCHD videos, see the instructions here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00015661

To download using the Finder, click the NONAME divide in the sidebar to view it in the Finder. Locate the subfolder DCIM in the window that will open and look for your photos and videos.
