Rebooting iPad Air 2 Issue

I was updating my iPad Air 2 this morning when the update was interrupted. I have not been able to fully turn on my iPad since. It is a black screen with the Apple logo and does not go any further. I have tried multiple troubleshooting tactics that I found online, however every attempt fails because it says I need to enter the passcode on my iPad, which I am unable to do since the screen remains black with the apple logo. I've tried to do an update through iTunes as well as a restore through iTunes and both continue to fail due to not being able to enter my passcode on my iPad. How can I proceed so that I can get my iPad to work properly again?
