how do i activate an esim in a dual sim phone?

If you have a model supporting 2 physical SIMs, eSim can't be activated.

Shouldn't be this case, read this support article:--> Using Dual SIM with an eSIM – Apple Support

If they have a model with two physical SIMS they don't have an eSIM.
