Searchbaron removal from Safari

Hi.

It seems that I have downloaded a browser hijacker called searchbaron that also redirects to other search engines like searchnewshighlights and searchnewworld. It seems that happen a lot of redirects when I search anything. Something like my search -> searchbaron.com -> something something -> searchnewshighlights or searchnewworld.

What I tried:

  • searching for a suspicious application in the Applications folder - No result here
  • search for a suspicious extension in Safari - No result here
  • search for a suspicious process running - No result here
  • search for an application in my mac called Spaces - No result here
  • changing the searchengine in Safari preferences - No result here (It is affected only Google. It seems that if I select Yahoo or Bing it works. I tried to logout from my google account thinking it is something related to the account, but No result)

Basically tried things that are said on blogs like those ones:

https://howtoremove.guide/remove-search-baron-virus-mac/

https://bitrebels.com/technology/how-to-remove-search-baron-searchbaron-com-virusredirect-mac/

https://macsecurity.net/view/279-remove-searchbaron-virus-from-mac

https://sensorstechforum.com/remove-search-baron-mac-virus/

Have no idea how reliable they are but I can say that nothing worked (so the reliability is actually none from me)

Now my question: Has anyone here know HOW CAN I REMOVE SEARCHBARON from Safari?

Right now I changed the /etc/hosts to block any URL like searchbaron, searchnewshighlights and searchnewworld, but I am shown the "Safari Can't Connect to the Server" page (obviously wanted result since I changed the hosts folder). But this method is not a fix, is just a workaround to avoid being completely redirected (I just press back and presto I am back on chrome searching, but you can imagine the inconvenience).

Just repeating my question: HOW CAN I REMOVE SEARCHBARON from Safari?

Can anyone help? Please help and thanks!

Try downloading this program which was written by Thomas R, a long time poster. The program will search for malware/adware. The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. It may be necessary to run more than one scan. After running the scans, restart the computer.
