+32 dialling code added to UK mobile number

Randomly, when I call someone in my contacts, who has a UK mobile number and is currently in the UK a +32 pre-fix (which is apparently Belgium) gets added to the number. The call goes through fine and I’m usually only aware of it after the call has finished and I can see the pre-fix has been added, but I’ve no idea how or why? Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve tried contacting my network provider but they can’t identify anything on their end which would cause this problem. It’s not a big problem now but I’m just worried at end of January, when we leave Europe, will I get international charges? Thanks.

Hello, RosieJ10.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

From what I've read is that you're getting an area code pre-fix added to your calls. I'd like to help. Go to your Settings > Phone and check to see what your number is set to there. Also, check your Dial Assist setting: Make a call on iPhone

"Turn on Dial Assist for international calls: (GSM) When Dial Assist is turned on, iPhone automatically adds the correct international or local prefix when you call your contacts and favorites.

For information about making international calls (including rates and other charges that may apply), contact your carrier".

Best regards.
