how to pair iphonexr with JBL Micro Wireless speaker

I am trying to pair my iPhonexr with JBL Micro Wireless speaker but iPhone rather does not recognize the JBL speaker. I have turned Bluetooth off on speaker and on iPhone, have tried pushing the “connect to Bluetooth” button on iPhone quickly, but iPhone keeps seeking the speaker (which is next to iPhone) but nothing helps. The JBL speaker worked instantly with my new Firefox 10 and I have turned off the Bluetooth on the Firefox in case the speaker was trying to pair with Firefox (instead of iPhone). But the iPhone doesn’t even list the JBL speaker as a possibility. Is some additional app is needed on the iPhone?to help it pair?
