My iPad is disabled

My iPad is disabled from too many passcode tries. The screen says “DISABLED Connect to iTunes” so I did and the iPad pops up in my devices list, but I can’t access it in anyway.

Follow the directions here: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
