Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities corgidogdave,

I see that you're getting an error when trying to open iTunes or Image Capture. I understand your concern, and I'd be happy to help.

Since both of these apps are part of the macOS, you'd need to reinstall the software. Make sure that you have a backup of your data before reinstalling. The articles below will guide you through these steps, if needed.

Back up your Mac

Reinstall macOS

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Hello i_rina, thanks for your effort to help me.

I read both articles, and then proceeded to try to follow the directions in "Reinstall macOs".

There are 3 different things to try after a Restart.

I tried each one and none would work. I got to a point where the Reinstall Utility opened up, clicked it, and then got a dialog box that said "Server Cannot Be Reached." My WiFi is on, and working for other apps.

I also found you can't delete and reinstall iTunes and Image Capture separately or alone because they are required by the macOS.

I'm stumped. I have not yet called Apple Support for a phone call with a technician, but I think it may be time.

Thanks, ~ Dave
