Removing Red 2 in APPLE ID suggestions.Ido not want two factor authentication.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are unable to clear the badge icon which represents updating your Apple ID within Settings. I'd like to help out.


The red badge on Settings can either represent the need to update your Apple ID settings, or that there is a software update available. If the badge appears on Settings > General, it relates to the software update and this badge does not clear out until the update is completed. If you are seeing this badge associated with the need to update your Apple ID, it likely is referring to setting up two-factor authentication: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support. This is a great way to add an additional layer of security to your Apple ID. If its not something you wish to enable, however, I would recommend tapping the notification and following the prompts, selecting your preferences. The badge may continue to present itself, however. In this case, I would recommend submitting feedback to Apple about this: Product Feedback - Apple.
