my iPhone used to print to my printer but no longer, why?

Recently my iPhone has ceased to recognise my printer. Any suggestions as to why this is?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

the software to print to an air print supporting printer is built into iOS.

make sure the printer has air print enabled
