the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail

I am constantly getting this error on various apps that I am trying to install. Mostly music software vsts that are 64 bit.

I think the problem might be that I used the migration assistant and now I have 2 volumes on my catalina drive that don't seem to be able to talk to each other?
