Final cut pro trial reset gone wrong

I did something really stupid and I am seriously kicking myself. Basically I got the free 30 day trial and it just ran out. I'm not in the position to buy the full version until next month so I stupidly researched ways to get the 30 day trial again. I found a youtube videos which showed how you could copy and paste a command in terminal and I got the 30 day trial again except all my projects were gone. Completely gone. Is there any way I can get them back? Please help, I had loads of footage and videos of my daughter.

Projects are inside libraries.

Libraries are FCP X’s “documents”. Like any other files they don’t just up and disappear.

What probably happened is that the preferences got cleared so FCP X started in a default state.

Libraries have a purple icon with four stars and names that end with extension .fcpbundle

Search in the Finder and double click to open.

As Luis said, the libraries containing your projects are almost certainly on your computer and simply need reconnecting to Final Cut Pro X.

On a different point, if you ultimately want to save £300 you could do your editing in the free iMovie, which can do more things than most amateur editors need to produce highly polished films. Final Cut Pro X is no "better" than iMovie, it just has a lot more specialised features that are generally only required by professionals and rarely, if ever, used by most amateurs.
