erase and restore MacBook pro 2008 to original

I have purchased a new MacBook pro 2019 and have transferred data. I want to give my 2008 MacBook to my granddaughter to use for school. How do I erase and to manufacturer settings

Click here and follow the instructions. When you reach step 6, insert a compatible Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the C or Option key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.
