How to Reboot without disk?

Hi Everyone,

First, I'd like to let you know that I probably am not using the correct terms and jargon with this, sorry!

SO:

I'd like to clean out my computer, ("reboot" it?) but I've moved out and misplaced the installation/reinstallation disk that was packed with all Apple computers. What are my options now?

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

You will probably need the disc, either to run the +Apple Hardware Test+ on it, that's tailored to your particular hardware.

You'll also need a disc for the version of OSX you're running, if you have to do a +*Repair Disk+* on your Mac, or to reinstall OSX, or to restore a full system from Time Machine backups.

But just booting up from your Install disc won't "clean out" your computer.

Are you having some sort of problem with your Mac? If so, what, exactly?
