Sykpe requires macOS 10.10+.

Skype is no longer supported on macOS 10.8 or lower according to this document:

https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA34763/which-skype-enabled-devices-or-platforms-are-no-longer-supported

You will either need to upgrade macOS, or purchase a newer computer.
