Factory Reset
Does a factory reset wipe all data associated with the device from the iCloud as well? Or will the iCloud data remain available for access by a new device that uses tithe same Apple ID ?

Erasing the device does not affect the data in iCloud. When you get a new device you can restore the iCloud backup which restores the data to the new device.
