Converting time to decimal

I'm trying to convert the duration of time worked to a decimal so that I may multiply it by my rate, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. There is a very old thread about this (9 years), so I'm wondering if there is an update. Can anyone help?

Hi appletoys,

The DUR2HOURS function is your friend.

Formula in F2 =DUR2HOURS(E2)

Formula in G2 =F2×Table 2::A$2

But in Numbers 6.1 (and later) you don't need that step. Simply multiply the duration in column E by the hourly rate in Table 2.

I can't remember if this is an update, or if it has always worked.

Formula in F2 =E2×Table 2::A$2

Regards,

Ian.
