Did your Photos programme import images from your iPhone 6S before.
Try this, hold down the Option/Alt key and Command key while starting up Photos
you should see a dialogue asking if you want to repair the photos library,
click Repair.
The Photos program used to work , but it then slowed down , and now will not except the Photos off my Iphone 6S ???

Yes, photos easily transferred from the iPhone 6S before.

Photos is what comes with at at least the last four Mac Operating systems, starting with Sierra.
