  • If you are getting a message to contact the card issuer, call the bank or credit card company who issued you the card to make sure there are no restrictions on the card.
  • If you are getting a message that Apple Pay services are unavailable at this time, sign out of your Apple ID and back in.
  1. Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct (https://appleid.apple.com/)
  2. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings>general>language & region - set to your region)
  3. A passcode is required to use the Wallet app.
  4. You need to be in a region that supports Apple Pay - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
  5. Your bank needs to support Apple Pay - Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support
  6. Sometimes if you sign out of your Apple ID and back in it resolves the problem.
  7. If none of these suggestions are able to resolve your issue you can go here for further assistance - If you can't add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay - Apple Support

I had a similar issue but I did a few things and made sure I was able to add it and it finally did. So first off your trying to add it to your wallet on your mac and the apple watch correct? Is it already on your apple Iphone? What type of Mac do you have and what type of apple what do you have. One thing is to make sure you go to system preferences/ Security&Privacy/ and make sure you have Find My checked as well as your wallet. Once I did that, turned my device on and off- then retired it , it worked. If that doesn't work let me know and maybe I can offer another i offer another solution of some sorts.

Looking a little more into this, it's something Apple just implemented so people arent using other peoples cards and have fraud going around. They want to make people call and confirm their cards for apple pay to lower the amount of fraud that was going on. So what I do, is use my camera to add the debit or credit card, and once you have that added in and the verification pops up- immediately call to verify the card and the banks are the ones who are in charge of verifying it to Apple Pay, which I was told they are given a way to communicate that card to Apple Pay right when you call. When you click the number you call there should be two options one for setting up a card payment and 2 setting up masterpass I believe. Always choose the one that you think is correct. I just added 6 cards by doing that. If you do complete verification later it might screw up the process. Below is a picture of all the ones I added within 10 minutes- just make sure to call the number and select the correct department (Applepay, or Mastervisa) if you do that correctly you will be fine. If people are still having trouble- please let me know if your trying a redit card, debit card, venmo card etc and if its a well known bank. Also I don't think they do anything with credit unions just because they are a money transmittor but I could be wrong about that. Let me know if any of this helps you!
