lost apple id

I have an iPad that belongs to an older person, I forget his apple ID and password, how can I reset the device to create a new apple id?
Apparently he had the function to find my iPad enabled

See if they can recover the ID/password.

Apple ID - How to find your Apple An iCloud e-mail address is an Apple ID.

Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.

Check Settings/Your Name/iCloud or Settings/iCloud to see if the Apple ID shows there. If it does, use the forgot password link above to recover the password.

If necessary, if have the original owner take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store.
