Texting send button

Why is the send button situated so close to the text? If I wish to backspace to correct spelling etc. I inadvertently push send! I have also been sent many incomplete messages by friends. Maybe a screen query to confirm SEND is required.

I am assuming that you are talking about the texting through the Messages app.

The SEND button is to the right side of the text input window and looks like an Up Arrow. The button that you are talking about is the RETURN right below the backspace button on the keyboard. The RETURN button does not send the text and just adds a new line to the text in progress.
