70% of the memory is reserved to the System

I bought this iPhone 5s 2 years ago, it has 16 GB memory but 11,19 GB is reserved to the System software. This means that 70% of it's actual memory is reserved to the operating system. So basically I have less than 5GB for personal usage. It wasn't like this at the beginning. If I am not mistaken, when I bought it the operating system took less than 7 GB which was not good but still better than now. I avoided the updates as long as I could but many times when I woke up in the morning the device said that he got updated to the latest version during I was asleep without my permission. I don't even bring into discussion that it moves slower. So now with less than 5 GB for personal usage, it's almost unusable considering that only WhatsApp takes like 1.5 GB. I didn't payed for this and I am pretty disappointed. I feel like I was robed, I feel like that Apple is spitting in my face. I will soon have to chance this phone and considering this I don't want to hear from Apple again. I also own a latest MacBook Pro device at my office but I won't but that item for my personal usage also just because of this. I hope that Apple will fix this somehow even though I don't understand how they can fix this. iCloud would be some kind of solution to give more free space for older devices which were forced to upgrade the system and are unusable anymore but yet iCloud is so strange to use and I personally don't like it. Is there any way to make it right ?

No. The system storage can never be 11.19 GB. You may not be reading it correctly as this includes "Others" My iPhone 6 iOS 12.4.4 has only 1.14 GB (Repeat 1.14 GB System Storage). I always keep Others near to Zero

This is the reason iOS 13 and above has System Vs Others bifurcation in storage display

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

  • Other: Non-removable mobile assets, like Siri voices, fonts, dictionaries, non-removable logs and caches, Spotlight index, and system data, such as Keychain and CloudKit Database. Cached files can't be deleted by the system.
  • System: Space taken by the operating system. This can vary based on your device and model.

About cached files in "Other"

Finder and iTunes categorize cached music, videos, and photos as Other instead of actual songs, videos, or photos. Cached files are created when you stream or view content like music, videos, and photos. When you stream music or video, that content is stored as cached files on your device so you can quickly access it again.

Your device automatically removes cached files and temporary files when your device needs more space. My iPhone 6 has

If storage on your device differs from what you see in Finder or iTunes

Since Finder and iTunes categorize cached files as Other, reported usage for Music or Videos might differ. To view usage on your device, go to Settings > General > [Device] Storage.

If you want to delete the cached files from your device

Your device automatically deletes cached files and temporary files when it needs more space. You don't need to delete them yourself.
