Ipad front camera angle?

Is the front facing camera on an ipad designed to take pictures at an angle? If ao what is the angle? Is there a way to change the angle with software? Is there related documentation on the web somewhere? I noticed my 2nd generation ipad pro's front facing camera is not aimed perpendicular to the screen surface and I am trying to determine if that is by design or if I have a defective ipad. It seems to be pointing about 15 degrees off of perpendicular. I would like to use it in a horizontal orientation for selfies and have the subject straight in front of the screen, instead of standing slightly to one side.
