Genre Classification in TV App

In Catalina, I have some videos with diverse genre. When I synch to my iPad running iPad iOS 13, some of the genres show up on the iPad TV app with either:

All the correct videos.

Some of the correct videos.

And one genre is missing altogether.

All of the videos can be found on the iPad in one way or another - in the downloaded section, or home videos.

These are videos in MP4 format which I have not purchased; they are my files.

I cannot figure out why this erratic behavior happens, by examining the files since they are all the same format. Any ideas?

I think I figured this out. My old movie library had some videos in the category 'home movies'. This doesn't bother the TV app on the Mac and everything still gets sorted by assigned genre. However, the iOS version of TV doesn't process 'home movies' into genre, apparently. I forced those videos into the Movies classification on the Mac, then after syncing, the iPad TV app put everything into the correct genre.

It isn't logical, but it gets me what I wanted. I hope it helps someone else.
