CDs that end 5 seconds too soon on Apple Music player

On Apple Music Player, I have some CDs that end 5 seconds too soon before it reaches the end of the last track (end of CD). I'm currently on Catalina 10.15.12 via Mac Mini 2018 but this was happening even before I upgraded (when Apple Music was still iTunes). I've tried with different external DVD/CD drives and it still does the same thing. Basically I still rip CDs and I like to listen to them in full before ripping onto iTunes/Apple Music to make sure there's no skips/glitches.

Any suggestions regarding settings to get around this?

Well when you import the CD let me know, there isn’t actually a ‘setting’ for that sounds like a bug to me. And do check the CD in a normal player, sometimes encoding can be messed up but very rarely.

This particular CD plays normal on Blu-Ray player (I don't have a regular CD player anymore) and it rips the files from Apple Music/iTunes player completely with no problem.

Sorry. Let me explain it a different way.

Whenever I would play certain CDs on Apple Music/iTunes player using an external DVD/CD-Rom connected to my 2018 MacMini, the last track on the CD would stop playing 5 seconds before it's supposed to end. Nothing to do with importing. Just a problem playing the CD itself via Apple Music/iTunes player.

I’m not completely clear what you say but I have noticed an issue importing CDs as MP3 in iTunes 12.9.5.5 (Mojave 10.14.6) when it skips the last five seconds of each track. A workaround is to import as lossless (AIFF) and then create MP3 as a separate step from the Library menu. I sent Apple feedback importing MP3 has never failed for me in 10 years of using iTunes.
