How to place 2 large letters (500pt.) half way on top of each other? Think Rolls Royce logo. Only one can be seen at a time as I move them onto each other. I can see 1 or the other but not both.

Insert a text box, and from the Arrange panel, set its Text Wrap to None. Scale the text box to receive your 500 pt letter. Once you are satisfied with it, press ⌘+D to duplicate it, and now you can overlay the duplicate on the first text box to meet your design goal. Then group them from the Arrange panel.
