Voice Memos stopped recording

Hi!

I was recording an interview yesterday and I paused it at 29 minutes. Once I started the recording again, it showed that it was recording but it doesn't seem to have recorded anything.

When I look at the recording on my Voice Memos app, it shows it to be 1:46:11 long, but there is only 29:18 of sound. Is there any way of salvaging the data for the section after I paused? Did it actually record anything once it had started again?

I have attached some images which show what I get on my screen.

Hi there, MarkEdwards98.

I see that quite a bit of an interview you were recording wasn't included in the Voice memo you started. Your memo appears to be close to 2 hours long, but you're only able to listen to 28 minutes of it. I'm glad to help with this.

Use the Voice Memos app -- There isn't any way to retrieve what wasn't recorded, but I can help to keep it from happening again. Please record another Voice Memo, pause it for a time, then start it again. Did it capture everything you expected?

If it didn't, please answer the following questions:

Which model of iPhone are you using, and which iOS is it on?

How much storage space is available on your iPhone? How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
