New Apple Watch Series 5 will not run the newest iOS update, have retried many times, the Geek Squad at Best Buy couldn’t get it to work either, is there a known issue?
Yes, the latest WatchOS will not load. That’s odd that they’re supposed to know about the issue, as I just got off the phone with Apple Support & they set up a repair service send back, as the rep said they weren’t aware of any current problems with it, even though I read her NavyBuckeye’s response while I was on the phone with her. I didn’t see yours or Tsani’s response until the call was over...
Apple released new updates on Tuesday, and I have updated my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch with no problems. I suggest trying updates again.

Agreed Tsani, I just bought mine yesterday & Best Buy replaced it earlier today, but of course I’m still having the same issue with the replacement & Apple Support said I need to send this replacement (just got several hours ago) to them for repair??? This is crazy 😝
This is sooo frustrating. Just bought mine yesterday. Unable to upgrade. Have been reading all the tips and responses to no avail. I thought Apple is suppose to ease the user’s experience of using this. But this is ridiculous. I dont hv time to browse, reading and fixing this matter. Just wrote to Apple Support but now i have to wait. So frustrating
Very frustrating! First frustration was when I found out that it cannot make ECG , because I don’t live in the right country and the reason I wanted this watch was that, because I watched the clip how the watch saved lives! How discriminated I felt, first time in my life! Second frustration was when I found out that it cannot track my sleep even though I paid for an app, but again I am not in the right country! And then on top of that I have battery issue, I read that I have to update to version 6.1. I try to update and 4 hours reading and frustration with no luck!

Yep....me too! Brand new Series 5 watch that will not run latest update.
Shame, shame, shame! Such an expensive device. I just bought it on Friday. Very bad experience with it so far.
I cannot speak for Apple Support. I'm a user like you, and we are just going by the large number of threads here regarding software update on iPhones, iPads, and Watches.

Are you referring to watchOS update? Whey you say it won't run the newest, do you mean that you cannot install the latest update on the Watch? If that is the case, yes, there appears to be an issue on Apple's end regarding updates. You can contact Apple Support using the link at the top of the page here. They may be able to tell you when this will be fixed.
