Better Bluetooth Codec for IOS
I would seriously like to know why we are paying an outrageous premium for our I devices if we are only getting “ok” quality Bluetooth compatibility options (AAC and SBC) even apple decided to remove headphone 3.5mm IO from the devices to aim for a port free and wireless experience.
Myself as a Recently new iPhone user would like to use my 3rd party Sony WH-1000xm3 headphones with the much better LDAC codec to experience a better and quiet frankly Less compressed audio experience when tied with Tidal or Any other Lossless Audio streaming platform or application. I understand that majority of iOS user do no see the need for a higher quality Bluetooth Codec, however people like myself and many others who are used to these options being standard on our older Android counterparts would like to have these options as well.
I know that having higher quality codecs such as APTx or APTx HD or LDAC is not going to give us a lossless experience. But what it will give us is a less processed experience as the end result.
If you were listening to music that has been compressed to 320kbps or even Oog from streaming services such as Spotify, that is then further compressed by a Bluetooth codec such as AAC or SBC the end result is not of good quality. Now if we took the same audio Source and then Compressed Using LDAC the end result is much better. Now add the Lossless 16bit 1.414Mbps CD quality from Tidal or even higher when talking Masters and compress then using LDAC the sound quality is almost Original over the 990kbps Bluetooth transmission.
My examples above are obviously not in anyway expert opinion. However they are from my personal experience as someone who loves audio and can hear the subtilise in music from how they are compressed.
All I ask is that we move forward with Bluetooth technology and implement much better quality codecs that can let us experience our higher resolution audio that is being streamed from platforms such as Tidal.
It cannot be that hard to give us an experience we pay so much for .
thanks Apple
