Feature Request: Allow iMessage Editing

I have seen a few discussions on this, but because if implemented poorly it could break integrity, it is usually dismissed.

Often I type quickly and I sometimes miss type a figure or word. So people don't search and find the wrong information later, it would be helpful to make small edits.

Maybe the old text should just show a line through so it is clear it has been changed? It would need a fancier editing interface, but I don't see why it isn't doable.
