Auto-Select Speaker for Calls

Iphone8; Verizon

I have Accessories >Voice Over>Audio> Auto-Select Speaker in Call turned off but it still turns on Speaker when I answer phone call.

Is Verizon doing something? This did not happen with ATT.

THANKS

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

Hi, BillCar.

I'm glad you decided to reach out on Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, it sounds like your iPhone is automatically answering incoming calls on speakerphone and this isn’t a feature that you want on your device.

Do you use Voice Over? The path that you mentioned is specifically for the Voice Over aspect of your device. Voice Over is an incredible attribute for visually impaired because it allows your device to speak to you when you might have a vision impairment. However, if you’re not a Voice Over user, you might look at your settings for routing audio calls at Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing.

The “Route audio calls” section of the iPhone User Guide > Adjust touch settings on iPhone page may be helpful.

Best Regards.
