TMutil DisableLocal removed?

REALLY Guys? The "Thin" command is all we have left?

We're getting sick of Apple deciding we're not smart enough to decide what we want with our computers. We HAVE external backups and have VERY REAL REASONS to disable "Local Snapshots!"

Maybe Apple should come out with a 'Pro' edition of the OS for IT managers that have to manage a fleet of 1500!!

Preferably, I would rather you GIVE US the ability do decide what we want enabled or disabled rather than two separate OS's

Yeah, Apple continually makes life difficult if you know anything about computers at all & soon I fear it'll be just as immutable as iOS.

Local Backups seem amusingly like adding more handles to the basket that your afraid the bottom will fall out of! :(

I wonder if you can disable TM & use a different/better backup method...

Give Tri-Backup a try, it can do everything & far more than TM can do...

ALL,

I know how to delete them, and Thanks for the 'reschedule' plist generator, etc.

We need to run Time Machine, regularly, and the only thing I NEED to do is disable local snapshots.

As Apple adds and deletes stuff like this arbitrarily, without bothering to talk to any USERS!, we'll just have to wait until the OS people, be request, whim or flip of a coin, will fix this latest screw-up.

Disablelocal exists in OS X 10.12.6 and does not exist in OSX 10.13 If you do not believe me, go to terminal and type "man tmutil" when you're in 10.12, and then do the same in 10.13. The command 'disablelocal' does not come up.

Everyone who HAS complained about this on these discussion boards did not image it, or mistype it.

PS the 'disablelocal' HAS to be run in 'root,' like ALL 'disable' commands in 'tmutil.'
