how to remove "your emergency contacts have been notified" from iPhone XR

My emergency contacts were accidentally notified. I am having difficulty getting the "your emergency contacts have been notified" off my phone. I have gone through steps found in this forum but it goes to Siri. I can use my phone at times, but then when I try to shut down it goes back to the emergency contact screen.

Hi, Tammyjane59.

I'm glad you decided to reach out on Apple Support Communities. I understand that your iPhone XR is currently stuck on the screen notifying you that your emergency contacts were notified, and the steps you're trying to resolve it aren't working.

Are the troubleshooting steps that you tried the same ones outlined here?

Force restart iPhone

If so, make sure you are following the correct button sequence for forcing your iPhone to restart. On your iPhone XR you’ll want to try these steps in this order:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If Siri is being summoned when you attempt these steps, make sure you’re getting the volume up and down buttons fully depressed. Siri is summoned by pressing and holding the side button, so if your iPhone isn’t detecting the volume button depressions this may be why the forced restart isn’t working. You may have to remove your iPhone from the case, if applicable.

Best Regards.
