Time Machine backup
I am trying to take the first back up of my full Mac book. Although it starts to take back up and calculate the time remaining, it suddenly says "Stopping..." and stops. What can be the problem?

Old problem, new problem for this drive? How is it formatted?
If Time Machine get a message saying it can't create the backup...
If that message reappears it is likely the TM disk has been operating in a state of failure.
In this case replace it or try a different drive to test.
