Twitter Thread Template

Does anyone know of a Template for creating threads for Twitter on a Mac that would allow you to create a formatted Twitter Thread. I obviously have Pages, Keynote, etc. But I also have Microsoft Office 365 and the Full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite that could be used as a starting point for creating a Template.

I have to believe I am not the only person that desires such a Twitter Thread Creation Tool on a Mac and would love someone to point me to an existing Template or Templates that performs this task. When I search on Google or Bing or for that matter inside Apple Support or the Community, I don't find any such templates but I find it hard to believe they aren't out there somewhere.

Anyone that could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I really don't care which software is used of the above listed, but what I am looking for would be a Template that would allow you to easily enter and edit text in a format/style compatible with Twitter Threads.

Creating content directly on Twitter is not satisfactory because you can not edit Tweets. Creating Tweets in Word Processing Software without a Template is unsatisfactory because changes you make in documents that are not formatted to fit the Twitter Thread do not flow between consecutive Tweets. This makes editing difficult and cumbersome. In addition, you end up having to cut and paste multiple times to Twitter.

With a well designed Template you would be able to enter text into the Template, text would flow between Tweet Sized sections and edits would flow across sections. You would be able to preview exactly how a Tweet Thread would appear when you ultimately posted it to Twitter. You should be able to utilize any characters or formatting that would translate from the creation software to Twitter by simple cut and paste and hopefully the created document would be able to be copied and pasted directly into a Twitter Thread.

Again, as popular as Twitter is, I would think someone(s) would have already created such a template. In fact I would think there would be such Templates for virtually all popular document creation software. But I am not finding it. I would prefer a free Template, but if a particularly robust tool were available, I am willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

Any Assistance by the Community would be appreciated.

It's just a lot more likely you will find something special like this has been developed for other platforms, since the vast majority of twitter users are no doubt using Windows or Android instead of Mac or iOS. Also a lot more people use Word than Pages, so you might ask in the Word forums.

As I thought I stated clearly in my query, I have done a search to the extent of my admittedly limited ability for any such tool. I have found none to date. My query is does anyone know of such a tool. I think I can build one myself including using Twitter's API's to make it relatively seamless. However, I would rather not spend the hours involved in doing this if someone else already has done it.

I suggested that I can not possibly be the only person who would find such a tool helpful and productive and it seems to me to be an obvious rational extension to the Twitter Application and/or the Twitter Website. To be clear, based on my exploration I have not found such a tool or extension for Windows, for MacOS, for iOS, for any Browser, for Android, for Linux, for Unix or for any other operating system.

If in fact no such tool or extension exists it may well be worth my time or maybe a developer more skilled than me to develop such a tool. I believe once developed you would find many potential users amongst the millions of Twitter Users, many of them businesses that would probably be happy to pay a reasonable fee for a tool that made their Twitter Marketing or Customer Support more effective and efficient.

Again, I was hoping that perhaps someone on this forum might be able to point me to such a tool or extension if it exists. If it is only available on Windows that would be fine because I can use Parallels to utilize it on my Mac. I would prefer either a Native MacOS , iOS or Browser Based tool or extension as I would prefer to use it without having to load Windows on my Mac. My query again was just that, a request from the forum to see if anyone knew of such a tool. Thanks for the query, I hope my question is now clear.

I would add that likewise I have not found a template or tool for any Word Processor, Desktop Publishing, Presentation, or other Application, at least the ones I regularly utilize or have easy access to. This includes: MS Word, Apple Pages, Adobe Creative Cloud InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, MS Powerpoint, Apple Keynote, etc. I have looked at various Twitter Tools and again not found the utility or capability I am looking for.

Again it is possible this capability exists in some Twitter Tool I am not familiar with or which I am insufficiently well versed in to know it exists. Again if anyone can point me to the capabilities I am looking for or a Word, Pages or other Software Template that accomplishes this, I would appreciate being pointed to it.

Thanks, what I am looking for in Pages would be a Template that formats text and graphical elements across linked sections or text boxes that are within Twitter's current Tweet character limit. It should allow text to flow between sections as you edit the text (basically just normal WP behavior). It would be nice but not required that the Template would utilize Twitter's Authentication API's to allow you to copy and paste an entire Thread to Twitter in one pass, but if it required you to copy and paste the individual Tweets into each Twitter Tweet box in a Thread that would be a great start.

I believe while not completely trivial, just setting up Sections or maybe better linked Text Boxes that are limited to Twitter's Character Count and consider the impact of graphical elements in that calculation is not a particularly onerous task. Adding the API's for Authentication and to allow the entire Pages created content to be Cut and Pasted into Twitter may or may not be more difficult but the latter could be a goal for future development and the first part could be the initial design target.

This is precisely the kind of help I was looking for assuming someone on the Forum was not aware of an existing Template or Tool or had not created such a Template they were willing to share.

Thanks again,

Granville

Actually, I believe you will find that there are more iOS users on Twitter than any other single Platform at least in the US. Worldwide there may be a slightly larger Android User Base but in terms of Users who might purchase such an App or Template like most Apps all the real money is on iOS. As to Windows I think it would come in a very distant third at best and would be well behind Browser Based access through Twitter's Website as I believe most Windows users like most MacOS Users probably utilize the Twitter Website through Web Browsers rather than Native Apps.

I am pretty sure that the vast majority of Twitter Users are in fact Mobile Users on iOS or Android Platforms. As to the MS Word Suggestion, I agree and actually have a similar Post on the MS Windows/Word Forum(s) but thanks for the very valid suggestion.

Thanks,

The difference is virtually all iPhones sold in the USA since at least the 5 are still in use and many since the 3S. For Android SmartPhones a much smaller % of them are still in use after the first three years of release. This is proven by websites that track User Devices and by the resale market where iPhones command a substantial price even years after release. This one of the reasons Users like myself have been able to acquire new iPhones annually or bi-annually with little or no out of pocket expenditure after selling their off-contract phones until the release of the iPhone X which had a substantially higher price than previous iPhones (but in return substantial and meaningful improvements in functionality).

As I said not close to that in USA. Apple based on the chart you attached has 47.8% of SmartPhone Market in the USA the largest by any single Manufacturer and barely behind all Android Manufacturers combined. Apple continues to gain cumulative Market Share in the USA as their older phones remain in use. Even Assuming iOS had the full 25% left from your assumed 75% share for Android, iOS actually has almost double that and Android has 1/3 less in the USA. Very inexpensive Android Phones in the 3rd World and China, India etc. accounts for the significant difference in worldwide statistics.

Interestingly enough (at least to me) Apple garners close to 90% of the Smartphone sales profits worldwide, which allows them to invest significantly more into research & development than any other Smartphone makers. Which is good in my estimation for Apple iPhone Users (and Stockholders).

The original 140 character limit on tweets was one of the defining features of Twitter. although they've extended the limit, the fact that they have not dropped it entirely could be significant.

If they did not think a character limit on tweets would have Twitter desired effects on the shape, usefulness and popularity of the site, why would Twitter have imposed such a limit?

Should you find or develop a tool that effectively allows ignoring that limit, what response do you predict from users exposed to the resulting threads? What response do you predict from Twitter?

Not an answer to your question, I know. Just something to think about.
