The Mac Pro 19 does not support digital audio out from the headphone jack via a mini Toslink cable.
The Mac Pro 13 did.
Is there a solution to out digital audio from the Mac Pro 19 up to 192k into a DAC via optical or S/PDIF? Ideally via Thunderbolt 3. This would be used with Logic Pro X and the Music app.

Yes. There are a lot of audio interfaces with optical outputs. Actually, you don't need a further DAC if you connect an external audio interface. Just check out your favorite musical stuff dealer.

DaCaptain, thanks much for your reply. You are correct there are audio interface boxes like Apollo that will provide output at 192. Kind of pricey for something I got for "free" in my 2013 MacPro. I'm continuing to search and am confident something more reasonable will come out as Thunderbolt 3 is more prevalent.
