Charging port

Hi I have a iPhone XS Max, had this phone for over a year now and noticed that when I plug my phone in it doesn’t charge unless I push the lightning cord to the left side when it’s plugged it then it will charge. Just wanna know if it has loose connection and if it can be fixed

First take a flashlight and see if there is any debris in the charging port, like lint. If there is, use something like a wood toothpick to gentry pry it out. Do not use canned air or anything that will push it further in. If there is no obvious debris in there, try a different charging cable to see if the same thing happens. If it does, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options.

It depends. I could be a loose port, debris in the port, or a connector that is marginal. If you have another Lightning cable to test out, that might indicate if it's a problem with the Lightning connector and not the port.

I personally haven't found any Lightning port on any of my Apple devices to have become loose, but I have encountered Lightning connectors that had to be jiggled around to get it to start charging.
