restore deleted iMessages

How do I restore Imessages from 1 person to my iPad that are still on my iPhone but mistakenly deleted from iPad?

iPad Air, iOS 12

You cannot restore messages "from 1 person". You either restore all messages from an iPad backup or you restore none.

I will try again.

You do not get to choose what messages are restored.

You either restore your iPad from the backup, which will restore all messages present when the backup was created, or you do not restore the backup and keep whatever status you currently have.

I only deleted iMessages from one person, by mistake..and have all the rest for the past few years from others.

the only ones I need to restore are the deleted ones?
