I updated my phone and now I cannot make calls

I do not know which iPhone you have but I am assuming that it is an iPhone 7.

If it is an iPhone 7 then please have your iPhone examined at an Apple Store. Your iPhone 7 may be part of the iPhone 7 Repair program and you can check whether you qualify by using the information in this link iPhone 7 Repair Program for "No Service" Issues - Apple Support .

If it is not an iPhone 7 then please specify which iPhone it is and we will try and guide you in the right direction.

It is supposed to do this as part of the update, but may pay to [re]do it again. Force Restart the device as detailed here, and report if it helped. Else the trip to the Store or Provider as detailed by Axel may prove indispensable.
