Apple Pay in store issue

Hi, I’m having an issue with Apple Pay when I’m trying to use it in store on my iPhone 7 Plus. I follow all the correct procedures as in I either double press home button when locked and keep my thumb on Touch ID or enter wallet and try from in there. When I move my phone next to card machine in stores that I know accept Apple Pay, literally nothing happens. No move closer instruction it just sits there and does nothing or says nothing.
