tap to scroll through picture face

I am using the face on my watch series 3 where it randomly shows pictures marked as favorites on my phone. I used to be able to tap on the watch face and it would scroll through the background pictures on the watch face. The only way now to move to the next random picture is to let the face go black/turn off then raise my wrist again. Either a bug or an annoying change they made to the software. Any suggestions?

Greetings BdSaudi,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand a new photo appears on your Apple Watch face only when raising your wrist, and not when tapping the display as expected.

A new photo should appear when tapping the display, as outlined in the following article: Apple Watch faces and their features - Apple Support

"A new photo appears every time you raise your wrist or tap the display. Choose from a synced album, specific photos, or a dynamic collection of photos from your recent Memories."

I suggest selecting a different Photos album to sync to the Apple Watch face, select the Favorites album again, then test the behavior. You can see how to change the album syncing to your Apple Watch in the following article: Choose a photo album and manage storage on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Additionally, test the behavior after restarting your Apple Watch. If the issue persists, unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, pair them back together, and then test the behavior:

Cheers.
